Everyone has the right to receive the care they need in the settings they prefer. The Area Agency on Aging assists nine East Central Ohio counties understand their options for care and ensures your rights as a consumer are not infringed.
Most older people remain independent their entire lives, but others find themselves needing some help with activities we once took for granted, such as fixing meals and traveling to appointments.
There comes a time when we need a level of care that we just can't provide for ourselves. We offer many different options in a variety of settings, from linking you to care in your home to assisting you in nursing facility placement.
This is the first time this national conference has been held in Ohio in several years and the first time ever in our area. Throughout the day, the audience learns to become an advocate or fearless caregivers for their loved ones and for themselves. For more information download our conference brochure.

May is Older Americans Month, a perfect opportunity to show our appreciation for the older adults in our community. Since 1963, communities across the nation have joined in the annual commemoration of Older Americans Month—a proud tradition that shows our nation's commitment to celebrating the contributions and achievements of older Americans.
The theme for Older Americans Month 2012—Never Too Old to Play!—puts a spotlight on the important role older adults play in sharing their experience, wisdom, and understanding, and passing on that knowledge to other generations in a variety of significant ways.
